BECOME A COXSWAIN

INFO MEETING: 9/25 6pm

Location: CF/Communications Facility 115

TRYOUTS: 9/27 5pm

Location: Track next to Wade King Student Rec Center

Being a coxswain on a rowing team is like being the compass of a ship, guiding and motivating your crew through the unpredictable waters of life. Your voice is the wind in their sails, your commands the rhythm of their strokes.

A coxswain steers the boat by controlling a rudder to hold a point on course, and avoid obstacles. A coxswain needs to be able to focus on clear navigation, along with informing the rowers critical instructions. A coxswain is also responsible to motivate the rowers on and off the water. Whether it be a regatta, water practice, or land erging, a coxswains words will ignite the passion and power in rowers.

Embrace the power of leadership, and remember that in the smallest voice can reside the loudest and strongest inspiration.
